The Maker
DESIGN
With emphasis on traditional joinery techniques and reverence for the simplicity and elegance of Japanese design, paired with the utility of more contemporary schools of design, we aim to maintain form and function in equal parts to encourage engagement with the piece. Make it as nice to look at as it is to use.
PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY
Sustainability is at the front of a maker's philosophy. Craftsmanship incorporates this into each decision along the making process, from design to material selection. We primarily use locally sourced domestic hardwoods, selecting as many components of each piece by hand and utilizing these to create as little waste as possible. We create to last and work to have as little impact to the environment that allows this work as possible. Grow to create, create growth.
